Why is the photo effects plugin only a demo - this should be included as a full version, especially considering the asking price.

The program feels like a beta program with the GUI themes and a demo plugin included. Improve the GUI look and include the photo effects as standard rather than a demo and then I'd consider purchasing this, especially if you halved the...

The reason that you see the Demo term in the plugin description is that we intended to use the plugin to show other developers interested to develop plugins for Chrysanth Journal what is achievable. It's a fully functional plugin developed by us and it's not half-baked.

Reduce the price to around $15 - $39.95 is too much for this type of software. I can use open office for journal writing if I wished and that's free

Make it portable - this would enable you to carry the journal around with you and add entries on any computer you have access to.

Response from the site administrator
Chrysanth, 12.10.2011
It's already portable - http://journal.writing.my/support/JournalInThumbDrive.html

There's a link that says get more themes, but the link takes me to the main developers page but no link to the actual themes????

Response from the site administrator
Chrysanth, 12.10.2011
I am sorry for that, because we don't have new themes available yet.

The developer said that the program only runs on 32 bit systems; create a 64 bit version quickly

Most users now how 64 bit systems, you are ignoring a large potential customer base - also you should make it clear that the program isn't 64 bit compatible. That said I've tried starting it several times and it did work a couple of times.
Response from the site administrator
Chrysanth, 12.10.2011
I am sorry for that, but as we said it clearly on our site and GOTD, we only support 32 bit system, nothing more nothing less.

Include a full set of text editing tools such as a good selection of fonts, bold, italics etc with the ability to change the color of the font. these basic tools appear to be missing.

Rename the journal to something more appropriate like 'My Journal' or give the use the ability to change the name to reflect their own name eg 'Whiterabbits Journal'

Change the name, it does not sound software related, it's hard to remember and hard to spell.

Change the Shortcut icon - it looks more like a model airplane game icon as opposed to a serious application

Uncheck the 'Check for Updates' and 'Run text Advertisements' check boxes that are located in the options window.

These are easily missed andd may result in the application becoming unregistered if the program updates automatically
Response from the site administrator
Chrysanth, 12.10.2011
This feature only checks update, it does not automatically upgrade.

There's an excellent list of additional dictionaries that the program supports, but when I try to install one all I get is a document with gibberish opening up. There are no instructions on how to actually load the dictionary into the program

Response from the site administrator
Chrysanth, 12.10.2011
There is instructions for setting up dictionaries: http://journal.writing.my/support/MoreDictionaries.html

Uncheck the 'Create Quick icon' checkbox which is checked by default - it's easy to miss this during the installation process.

Not everyone likes quick launch icons to be installed. This option should be unchecked by default. It's easy enough to check the box if you want the shortcut installed.

This program feels like it's a beta product, no access to plugins or more GUI skins, the extra language and technical dictionaries won't install and the overall look of the program looks very dated. I would not pay $39.95 for this product as it st

The 'get more journal plugins' link just goes to the developers main page. there is no links to more plugins from the main page.

Why bother including such links when they don't support them yet. The same goes for the GUI skins.
Response from the site administrator
Chrysanth, 12.10.2011
We can't possibly develop all plugin in house, so far only one plugin was developed, and we hope that in future there will be more developers interested in developing the plugins.

On first run - following the creation of a password the program froze on my 64 bit system yet worked fine on my 32 bit system?

Is there a 64 bit version, or is this software supposed to work on 32 and 64 bit computer systems?
Response from the site administrator
Chrysanth, 12.10.2011
Chrysanth Journal only runs on 32 bit Windows OS, from Windows 2000 to Windows 7

I thin there should be a 'LINUX-BASED' version too, It runs fine in wine but still you can't enjoy all the features, also I wanted a 'CUSTOM' emoticon feature to be made available.

Get someone who can speak English to edit your website, remove the hijack attempt when people try to leave your website. It seems amatuerish and untrustworthy.

Include the actual time an entry is made, a click on a date should display all the entries for that day, and a click on each time should display the entry instead of going to 'browse' icon

Response from the site administrator
Chrysanth, 12.10.2011
You get to specify the time either in the entry title, or set it via the Properties Written At panel. Do you see it?

Have the ability to publish entries to the web, Facebook in particular

I think this is obvious. For many people, Facebook is a kind of diary. Google+ also.
